How to Make Festive Holiday DIY Hair Clips!

This is the cutest way to get in the spirit of the holidays! Fiona has shunned bows lately in favor of hair clips and I’m not complaining. Hair clips are small, cute, and stay in her hair more securely that bows. Her grandma gave her some Christmas hair clips last year and Fiona loved them, so I knew I had to make her some more this year.

The fun part is picking out the embellishments. This could be a million things. Hobby Lobby and Michael’s have the cutest little buttons, pins, jewels, pom poms, stickers, and bling. I could spend forever looking at all the potential little “toppers.” My favorites came from the scrapbooking and paper crafts aisle actually. The jewelry and fabric sections had some great options too.

It got me thinking about all the other little things we have lying around that would be perfect for this: vintage brooches, buttons, earrings, tiny figurines– the possibilities are endless!

I don’t know if it’s even safe to call this a DIY because it’s just too easy. No crafting skills needed. Just super glue fun embellishments on hair clips and wait until they’re dry. Done!

We clipped a few onto a handmade “Miss You!” card for Fiona’s besties. She gave that along with a box of “Cookie Mug Hanger” gingerbread cookies for the holidays.

Such a cute idea! I love the high ponytail with clips. I never would have thought of combining those two! 😍
